KINSALE JAZZIN’ AND LOTS OF HALLOW’EEN ACTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND!
The Guinness Kinsale Fringe Jazz Festival Weekend has finally arrived! After months of preparation and planning, several Kinsale businesses are gearing up for an action packed weekend of jazz, blues and fun.
The streets have been renamed 'Bourbon Street', 'Canal Street', 'The French Quarter' and 'St. Charles Ave’, and are adorned with banners and bunting.
The bands are booked and Kinsale welcomes all visitors and locals who enjoy a weekend of live music and craic. The fringe festival runs concurrently with the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival and offers
There are over 100 live gigs in many hotels and pubs, including Lila Ammons, guest jazz singer originally from Chicago, who performs on Friday 28th October at The Trident Hotel from 5pm accompanied by Billy Crosbie and friends. Lila will perform a few numbers in other venues on Friday night and on Saturday afternoon.
The Guinness Kinsale Fringe Jazz programme includes favourite acts such as Two Time Polka, The Roaring 40s, Loose Change, The Chris Hayward & Gary Potter Trio, Stringfellows, Crazy Chester and the ever popular Sharon Crosbie who all play various gigs around Kinsale throughout the jazz weekend.
Saturday 29th October has an action-packed schedule in the afternoon, kicking off with Sharon Crosbie at The Folk House, Gentleman Tim & The Contenders at The Wharf Tavern and 2D Fingers and 2 Hands at the Armada. Look out for King K at the White House and the Groove Collection at The Blue Haven.
On Sunday 30th October, 'The French Connection' a French Marching Band, will play as they march from The Spaniard at 2pm and perform on Pearse Street, before popping in to various venues!
